Picture Book Deer
Greetings and thanks for stopping by! I have a super fun card to share with you today. My nephew is an experience and successful deer hunter and he always appreciates the hand made birthday cards that I make for him. Therefore, when I saw the Deer Picture Book Die by Simon Says Stamp, I immediately wanted to use it on a card for him.
First, define the scene for my card design. Specifically a trophy, ten point Buck, mounted and proudly hung on the wall. With this in mind, the the pattern paper was selected because it resembles actual wall paper making it perfect for this card.
Second, add some action! Action Wobble Springs add a unique dimension to craft projects. So for this reason, I used an Art Impressions Mini Action Wobbles to mount the trophy deer to the wall. Actually you can watch this adorable critter in action as the star in the video below.
Adding Interest and Dimension
For added interest I used Glossy Accents on the eyes and nose. In addition I added more interest by adding shading and color to the deer. Also, for added dimension I popped up the Happy Birthday greeting with foam tape. And for even more dimension I cut several oval frames and stacked them together for more height.
Below you will find the list of the key supplies that I used to make this card. In addition, you can click the thumbnails to purchase a product. Compensated affiliate links are used when available, however there is no additional cost to you. All items were personally purchased. Thank you so much for your support!
