I like learning new things and continue to explore new interests and activities. That means I have many hobbies! One of my favorite hobbies is tent camping. Because I live in Wisconsin and experience four distinct seasons, this hobby is a seasonal hobby for me. My favorite times to camp are in Spring and in Fall. I also enjoy baking and cooking and can enjoy these hobbies all year round and even on a campsite. I have a camp oven that sits on top of my camp stove and it is perfect for baking corn bread muffins to accompany any campfire dinner.
My favorite hobbies happen to fall under the realm of crafting. I have been making candles for over 20 years and thoroughly enjoy the art and the science behind the process. I make votive, pillar, container and hurricane candles. My list of 50 scents includes Citronella which is perfect for camping candles because Citronella is supposed to keep the bugs away. You will almost always find scented colored wax chunks in my candle lab because I like to make chunky pillar candles. They are super fun to make and throw me back to the 1970’s!
I have been making beaded jewelry for a long time and probably have enough beads in my stash to keep me busy through my retirement when I finally get there. I once sewed often but now only sew occasionally. Every once in a great while I will crochet or weave a scarf.
My newest and most favorite craft is CARD MAKING! I discovered card making in 2014 and have been toughly and totally immersed into it ever since! It is my passion and I cannot get enough of it! The smell of photopolymer stamps makes me smile and inky fingers make me happy. I love learning card making techniques and then sharing what I learn with others. I teach cardmaking classes for Gina K at Village Paper & Ink.
This was one of the first cards I made. I only owned a few stamps at the time.
I created this blog to share with you my work and to hopefully give you some inspiration to creating something.
Make time to create something and get your craft on!!!!
