Fall Sympathy Card

Vintage Leaves

Hello and thanks so much for stopping by.  Today I have a sympathy card featuring the Vintage Leaves stamp set and matching dies by StampIn Up.  Ironically the name of the stamp set I chose for the greeting is called Vintage Rose by Gina K.  Therefor today is all about vintage!

Fall Colors

It was so much fun choosing card stock in fall colors for these beautiful vintages leaves.  Specific colors used for the fall leaves are; Dark Sage, Prickly Pear, Honey Mustard, Sweet Mango, Tomato soup, and Cranberry Tart.  Card stock colors used for the card base and panels are; White heavy base weight card stock for the A2 size card base, Kraft and Dark Chocolate for the card panels.  All Card stock is by Gina K.

Heat Embossing

Beginning with the leaves start by preparing the card stock with an anti static powder tool.  Then using embossing ink, stamp each leaf image on a different color of card stock and coat with brown embossing powder.  Next set the embossing with a preheated heat tool.  Finally cut out the vintage leaves using the coordinating dies.

Sympathy Greeting

Start by preparing the Dark Chocolate panel for heat embossing with an anti static powder tool.  Next stamp the sympathy greeting using embossing ink in the lower right corner.  I prefer to use a MISTI stamping tool for stamping greetings to ensure perfect placement.   However a block can be used as well.  Finally, using white embossing powder coat the greeting and heat emboss.

Attach the Leaves

Next using adhesive attache the Chocolate Brown panel to the Kraft panel and then attach both to the White card base.  To attach the leaves adhere a few of the leaves flat directly onto the panel and then pop up the rest using the foam squares.  Actually, layer the leaves on top of each other.

Finishing Touches

Conclude with some finishing touches, add Kraft and White baker’s twine to the front of the card next to the fold.  In addition, add an odd number of clear drops for interest.  Also select a sentiment for the inside of the card.  Stamp the sentiment on a white card panel and punch the corners with a decorative corner punch.  Attach the White panel to a Tomato Soup Panel cut slightly larger.  Attach this to the inside of the card.  (The inside sentiment is from a discontinued stamp set by Gina K.)
