Color Color Color

Today I have a card for the Color Throwdown 454  Challenge.  As a matter of fact, I never thought of putting these colors together but boy, do I like how my card turned out.  Grabbing supplies from lot of great companies on this one.  Links to current products will be below in the supply list.
Card Making

Corner Punch

To begin I prepared a white card base and cut two panels, one grass green and one slightly smaller in kraft.  I punched the kraft corners with a concave corner punch.  This is so silmple to do and it really adds interest to a card.

Stencil

Stencils can add a lot of dimension to a card project.  First, using a makeup sponge I sponged white pigment ink over a stencil on a kraft panel and let it completely dry.  Second, I offset the stencil just a bit and sponged over the stencil in grass green ink.

Stamp & Die Cut

There is nothing better than stamps with matching die sets.  This “Friends Till the End” stamp set with matching dies is by Gina K.  Using my MISTI I stamped the flowers and then die cut them with the coordinating dies.  Then I lost my MISTI magnets!  Yup, turned over my dies set and there they were.  Incidentally MISTI magnets are wicked strong, that’s all I have to say about that.

White embossing powder really show up on the grass green card stock and was just the look I was going for.  Essential fishtail sentiment dies by MFT fit the Avery Elle greeting well.  By the way, I snipped off one of the fish tails for an asymmetrical look.

Assemble

When I started to assemble the card I felt the flowers just needed a little something more.  So I punched out a few mini flowers in kraft and adheared a small pearl to the center of each and glued one to the center of each flower.  I also die cut a couple grass green flourishes by Spellbinders.  Finished things off by placing a small pearl in the center of each concave punched corner.

On the Inside

When possible I like to coordinate the inside of the card with the outside of the card.  So I used the same colors and the concave corner punch to tie things together.

On the inside of the card

All things considered I do love how these colors worked together on my card project.  I hope you found some inspiration from my card project today.  Try a new color combination!  It worked for me.
